Wooo Hooo!

I'm not pregnant!

Now let me say, I never thought I was....but I had to go get a blood test yesterday to make sure so that I could start on the regular birth control since I am not breastfeeding Becca anymore, and I had not had my period yet.

However as fate would have it, I started my period yesterday after going all the way to the hospital and having my blood drawn. Sigh. Oh well...focus on the happy. ;)

Cops - GRRRR

Okay, I respect this job A LOT. I know they put themselves out there and do good work for our community. But that is really hard to believe when they nail the person who is a good driver and are never around when there are idoits on the road.

I got (my first EVER) ticket today while driving home from my nail appointment. I was driving our Scion because I didn't have Rebecca with me and it has better gas mileage. I see a cop following me for about a half mile and I'm thinking, well I'm driving the speed limit, my seat belt is on, I should be fine. Apparently not. The stupid DMV didn't ever send us the registration letter (I assume it got sent to our old address which is LAME because our other car and our drivers liscences are at our new address...so it's not like they don't have it!) and so our registration expired ALMOST 3 MONTHS AGO! Seriously I was shocked. And NO he can't just give me a warning (because it is OBVIOUS I am shocked and I have the proof that I have not done this before in my car by way of the very consistent yearly registration notices) he has to give me the ticket. Stupid quotas that they say they don't have ya right...it's the end of the month!

To make it even worse, I ask the cop if he knows how much it will be, and he doesn't even know. But he told me I am responsible to call the court to tell them to send me the ticket or they will put out a warrant for my arrest. What the heck is that? Did you not just put all of my info in your system? Are you all really that lame that you cannot mail me a ticket without me calling you first? And then I have to pay the "court fees" to have you send me a piece of paper that I called you to send me? REDICULOUS!

I am very upset right now and angry at the system. Like I said, they always nail the person who is driving fine, but happens to not have gotten a notice from the DMV to send them money. ARG!

What about Cheesecake?

So last night for our ward's "Love of Food" group we went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner. Oh my! It was my first time believe it or not. I have had thier cheesecake before, but it was wonderful. Then I got this e-mail from my sister-in-law and thought...what about cheesecake? Here is the e-mail content and I am interested to see your answers... (By the way mine were Brownies first, then Strawberry shortcake second...it just depends on if I'm in a chocolately or fruity mood but they are both my favorite. So this was interesting because I chose a chocolate cheesecake last night, but if I went back today, I would want fruity!)

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose (sorry, you can only pick one)! Trust me...this is very accurate. Pick our dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you.

REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning.

After taking this dessert personality test, respond to this post and tell me what you got!

Here are your choices:

1. Angel Food Cake
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing
5. Strawberry Short Cake
6. Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing
7. Ice Cream
8. Carrot Cake

No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be.

OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what the researchers say about you...

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzyitems.. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your
own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and have many friends.

4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like to do things for yourself and help others learn about themselves.

6. CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING-- Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with... People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model.

Remember, respond with your choice so we can all have fun seeing what kind of dessert you are!

My Scalp Hurts

I have NO idea why, but one section of my scalp hurts, like someone tried to pull out my hair and didn't succeed, so now I have a big sore spot. VERY strange.

I know this is an odd post, but I felt like it had been a while since I had posted anything, so I wanted to post! ;) So um...ya...until I have something real to say...

Are You Ready for Some Pictures?

You know me and my pictures. I can never just do a few, and by the time I get around to putting them on here there are a TON! I thought about doing two separate posts, but decided to just combine them into one with sub-headers.

REBECCA, 5 MONTHS OLD
First I am starting with updates and photos of Rebecca, cause come on, she is the most important thing on here! So, here we go!

These two are pictures of Becca in that hat and dress my mom made. She was just being so cute and giggly, I had to put them on.

It doesn't get any better than that smile!

This is Becca with her daddy. I LOVE seeing them together. He is so good with her, and she loves him so much!

This is Rebecca in her bouncer/play gym thing. She loves it!

Here come the attempt at eating food pictures. We didnt get a good shot of the "ick" face she made, but these are cute. These are from Sept 4th. We have tried it one time since then, but she is just not ready to open her mouth for the spoon. We'll keep trying though!

Clamping down on the spoon!

Look at that cute, messy baby!

And this last one is Becca with some friends -- Lizzy and Andrew.

BOOK CLUB - A NIGHT IN REGENCY ENGLAND
Book club was incredible this month! (Thanks Jena!) We read Austenland by Shannon Hale. It is a book about a 30-something woman who goes on this trip to England and lives the Jane Austen experience. So...we decided to make one of our own for book club! We dressed up, did our hair, ate on plates that were actually Regency England era patterns and had music and conversation in the "parlor" after our four course meal! Wow!

By the way, I want you to all know we aren't insane, we just like being silly. The Twilight and Austen stuff is not the norm for us! We ususally just get together and talk about the books we read. That said, it was a really fun night. Here are some photos.

Group Shots

Don't I have the most beautiful friends on the planet? This is Erin and Angela

This is Angela S., Yufen, Courtney, and Kristi. Notice Angela's caravat! She looked amazing!

Jena (the mastermind behind this madness, for once it wasn't my idea to be crazy!) and Me.

Dialma, Sara, Erin and Angela.

Dinner (Or should I say Supper?)

There were two other tables decorated just as amazingly, but I didn't get good shots of those. In this shot is Yufen, Trenda, Me, Kristi, Angela S, and Courtney.

Convening in the Parlor

Angela and I (or should I say, Ms. Waterson, and I, Ms. Osgood) Went a little above and beyond and planned a music piece. It was fun and I was VERY nervous. Singing solos scares me to death. I would have never survived the Regency Period where you were expected to showcase your musical talents!

Here is us, the whole group portrait. Aren't we pretty?

And lastly, the hair! Here are some shots of my Recency Do! Angela was amazing and looked up how to do Regency styles online and did this for me. I loved the addition of the pearls!

Now, you may be saying to yourself...I want to be fun and silly with them! Or I love to read and want to be part of book club! Well you can! We are totally open for more people to join us anytime. Next month we are reading Riddle Master Trillogy (all three books is only 500 pages or so) so grab a copy from the library and join us! In Nov. we're going to the Twilight Movie...so you know there will be more fun stuff with that!

I hope you enjoyed my MASS post! Ta ta for now!

Hubby Tag

So apparently when you do a blog tag you are supposed to list people to do it too, so...Aimee, Brina, Torri, Angela, Courtney, and anyone else who reads my blog and wants to do a tag here you go. This one is all about your hubby.

This is a picture of Tyson and I at Bridal Veil Falls

1) Where did you meet? (the first time)
Tyson and I met at BYU. We were in the same ward. We both lived in DT, but I was put in the upper classman ward. Tyson had just got home from his mission a few weeks before school started, so he didn't have time to find a place to live, so he just signed up to stay in DT for his sophmore year (I sure am glad he did!). Our ward consisted of mostly freshman girls and RM guys. There were bound to be some marriages out of that arrangement! Tyson and I really met in our FHE group in that ward. That is a long story too. But it was the best FHE group ever.

2) How long did you date before you were married?
Tyson and I officially started dating on November 10, 2001 and were married on June 27, 2003. So we made it about a little over a year and a half.

3) How long have you been married?
Five years and counting! The best and fastest five years of my life!

These are pictures from our 5th anniversary this year.

4) What does he do that surprises you?
The most surprising thing about Tyson is when he loses his temper. It is very rare, and seems to be a result of built up frustration with lots of things that finally blows, rather than getting really upset about one thing.

5) What is your favorite feature about him?
Um...do I have to answer this? My friends from our FHE group knows this...okay I'll say it, I'm a butt girl!

6) What is your favorite quality about him?
How patient he is with me. Thanks for putting up with me baby!

7) Does he have a nickname for you?
Fuh fuh (don't ask...). And Cuddle Bug.

8) What is his favorite color?
Yellow.

This is us at Seal Beach when I was 5 months pregnant...notice the yellow shirt.

9) What is his favorite food?
Hmmm tough one actually. Tyson eats lots of stuff and likes lots of stuff. I'll go with pork chops since he orders those a lot when we're out and he always likes it when I make them at home.

10) What is his favorite sport?
Do video games count? Tyson doesn't watch sports.

11) Who said "I love you" first?
Funny story. I did. But it was totally an accident. I blurted it out after he did something cute while we were at Disneyland. But I was so upset with myself and flustered I pretty much ordered him to ignore what I had just done and not say anything. A few days later when we had some romantic alone time he whispered to me "I love you, too" and made my blunder all better.

12) When and where was your first kiss?
Tyson's 22nd birthday, exactly one month after our first date, outside my dorm.

13) What is your favorite thing to do together?
Hmmm. Just being together is nice. But we love watching movies, reading books, going for walks....

14) How old is he?
29 in Dec.

15) Do you have any kids?
Our perfect Rebecca.

16) What is a hidden talent he has?
He can make me completely forget about myself and my "problems" and focus on him and how much I love him.

17) What is his favorite type of music?
Classic Rock

18) What do you admire most about him?
Absolutely everything. He is the kindest most wonderful man in the entire world.

19) Do you think he is going to read this?
Um, maybe eventually. If I tell him to check my blog he will.

Tyson and I at Bear Lake.

If you do read this...I love you honey!

Right Now.....

....I want a big dessert.

My Lists

So...I was reading a friend's blog and she had a list of things that bug her on hers, and I thought it was a fun read. She did not limit it, but I think 10 is a good number for starters.

My List of Things that Must Go!
1. Huge SUVs and raised trucks that think they own the road.
2. Rude people
3. People who think they know everything...cause come on, we all know I do! ;)
4. Rap...its not even music and a LOT of it is very degrading
5. Dogs (had to put this on here because my friend put cats. ;) I am just not a dog person. If you have a small or well behaved dog I am okay around them for a while, but I never want one in my house.)
6. Mean kids
7. Kids that are unsupervised that should be. If you are old enough to have the child, you are old enough to take care of it!
8. Kids that think that my yard and driveway is their play area. Get off my property!
9. My feelings of inferiority
10. TV shows that are about really nasty things (ie. Desperate Housewives, Swingers)

I thought it would also be fun to list some of my favorite things, to lighten the mood of the post a little bit...

My Favorite Things
1. Family
2. My baby girl's smile
3. My baby girl's laugh
4. Chocolate
5. Friends
6. A good movie that I can cuddle up to Tyson and just get swept away
7. My cat....I love her like family
8. Disneyland
9. The Beach, I sure miss living by the coast
10. A good book on a rainy day

Awake...again.

I just was in the mood to post. I have no idea what this post is going to be about, but I was awake and couldn't fall asleep, and so I thought, hey my computer is my friend that is always awake. ;)

Lately, I have been contemplating life and friendship some more. Life without friends seems like it would be so lonely. I know what it was like for me when I felt far away from my friends and all alone, and I never want that feeling again. Yet, sometimes we rationalize our way out of spending time with people or getting to know people.

The more I open myself up to the possiblity of friendship with others, the mor I am surprised at how honest, and kind, and caring those people are. They don't care what I look like, or what my personal faults are. Rather they care who I really am on the inside and if we can just have fun and be girly together for a while. (Which as you've seen I really enjoy doing!)

I know I am too hard on myself sometimes, and my friends are always there to encourage me and tell me that I am seeing myself in a distorted way. If for no other reason than that I think every woman needs friends. Friends can see the good in us, the beauty in who we are when we cannot see it for ourselves -- which is often for most of us. We are so easy to be harsh on ourselves, and our friends are quick to buoy us up.

So thank you to all of you for being my friend, and giving me something pleasant to think about in the middle of the night when I can't sleep.

P.S. I promise there will be some updates about Becca soon! Including pictures from her first try at eating cereal from a spoon!

Midnight Sun Interview!

Okay, so I was on the news tonight! Craziness. My friend Kristi called me around 4:30 and said her friend works for our Channel 2 news and was doing a story on the Midnight Sun leak. But she wanted to interview some fans and get some fan reactions. Kristi thought of me and Angela cause we are die hard fans. So they called me up and came over to my house and interviewed me and Angela. The story ran on the 10:00 news. I come out looking a little crazy, but in a fun way.

Here is a link to the written part of the story...

And here is the link to the video that just came up online....

Austenland

I just finished this book, and I know some of my sisters-in-law didn't love it, but I sure did. I wanted to steal something from Shannon Hale's awknowledgements changing one name....

Honey, you know that this Ben Barnes thing isn't really serious. You are my fantasy and my real man. I need no other fella in all the world besides you. It's just a girl thing, I swear.

I thought it was perfectly said. Way to go SH.

Happy September!

I was thinking yesterday about time, and couldn't believe it was already September! Especially shocking to me was the fact that in 7 days my baby girl will be 5 months old. Wow!

It doesn't seem fair that when you want time to be slow it goes faster. In general the world is a fast paced place. We live longer today than in times past, and yet life goes faster. Why is that?

I really don't have all the answers. I have a few theories that are probably silly, but it was just something I was thinking about. It makes me anxious to spend time with the people that are important to me, do the things that are most important to me, and live the life I want now and not tomorrow. Because tomorrow comes too quickly, and I say the same thing. Life cannot be lived in tomorrows, it has to be lived today.

So for all of you, Happy September! Why wait until a holiday to celebrate. Celebrate now. Celebrate life. Celebrate the fall appraching. Celebrate September.

What Disney Princess am I?

You Are Snow White!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Which Disney Princess Are You?
I acutally think this description fits pretty well, or at least I have been told before that I have these qualities. Eventhough this is not my favorite movie or princess. I suppose I like her character, I just prefer the animation in some of the later films better. so...who are you?
