HP6 Party!!!

So being the crazy me that I am, I decided to throw a party and to to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for Book club this month. We had a great turn out and it was so much fun! Here are some pictures. Some of my friends got better ones so I will add some more if I ever remember to get thier pictures!

Decor
The Horcruxes!

The Great Hall! Complete with enchanted ceiling to look like the night sky. Our food spread included chocolate frogs, blood pops, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Pumpkin Pasties, an Herbology Sampler (veggies and dip), Newt Eye Salsa (black bean salsa) with Bat Wing chips (Blue Corn Chips), Triple Berry Trifle, Troll Eyes (meatballs in the crockpot), licorice wands (licorice dipped one end in chocolate for the handle), and Butterbeer! It was fabulous! Thanks to everyone who helped!

The sorting hat that Tyson and I (mostly Tyson) made! It was hard to get a shot of the face because the flash eliminated the right shadowing that showed it, but if you look closely, it's there!

Our Butterbeer! It was so cool, and turned out really well!

I lit the whole house with just candles a few flicker bulbs and the night sky lights. In this shot you can also see the necklace that curses Katie Bell.

The Characters!
Me in all my craziness as Hermione Granger!

Linds in her Harry Potter Crest shirt! She came up to help me set up it was so sweet of her!

Me as Hermione Granger and Harry Potter. I wonder where Tyson was in all of this? Who knows. We had Harry! ;)

Erin who came straight from school so she is just her cute self, and Sara who is a Gryffindor student.

Jerilynn, Ravenclaw student and Diane Hermione Granger! I kinda cut Diane's head off with this one! But it's the best one of her I had!

Menacing Chelsea Bellatrix Lestrange and fabulously punked out Jena Tonks!

This is our Courtney Bellatrix Lestrange and Luna Lovegood, gosh I'm bad, this is Court's Sister-in-Law and I am blanking on her name! Help Court! Either way they both looked incredible!

Erin, Sara, Dialma and me! I look like a goof...but I had to put it on here.

Proof that Travis was there, eventhough he didn't want to be in any of our crazy pictures. I can't at all imagine why not???

Chelsea Bellatrix Lestrange, and Jena Tonks having a wand duel!

Professor Dialma Trelawny divining our futures.

The whole group! Thanks for coming everyone! It was so much fun to go to a midnight movie and be a dork and dress up, and not have to do it on my own!!!

The movie was awesome! I love the energy of opening night. It is infectuous!

15 Month Well Check!

Here are Rebecca's Stats!

Weight: 23 lbs. 11 oz. - 70th percentile
Height: 32 3/4 inches - between 97th and 98th percentile
Head: 17 3/4 inches - 40th percentile

Pretty standard for her...she is a bit skinnier and taller than last time, but doing well!

Her speech is a little behind, but I knew that. She refuses to say as much as she could. In fact when we point blank ask her to speak English she shakes her head no every time. She understands a ton and obeys commands, but for now won't talk. We are trying more and it seems to be helping slowly so hopefully that will pick up by the next appointment.

A Happy Thought

My brother posted this quote on facebook, and I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you all!

Selfish, jealous people invariably are unhappy. It is so much more fun to be generous, to rejoice in the happiness of others, to share in their success. It is fun to congratulate successful people, when praise is merited; it is fun to share their happiness and success. It is more agreeable to associate and to do business with courteous, cheerful people. One of the best ways to make others happy is to be happy yourself, to radiate sunshine, courage and hope. To do this, evil jealousy must be banished from the heart and love replace it. When that is done you will rejoice with others even though they reap where they have not sown. God's great love transcends all bounds--it goes beyond the demands of mere justice. He rejoices when the lost are found, and is overjoyed when the prodigal repents and comes home. It is well to cultivate these same virtues and ever be grateful for the beautiful and friendly world He has made for a home, for the blessings that come through the inspiration of authors, inventors, musicians, and the peace and happiness that comes through following the master in the ways of peace.

Have a great day and rejoice in someone's happiness!

Fourth of July Part 2! Fireworks Galore!

Later that night we went down to the Riverton park where they had the carnival and fireworks. It was a lot of fun!

In the car heading to the park to get a spot to see the fireworks!

The Riverton Carnival. We didn't take Becca through it at all because we didn't have time, but it sure looked like a lot of fun!

Just chillin. Watching the other kids and looking at all the carnival lights.

Doing some sparklers before the big show started. Becca thought they were great!

Snuggled up to see the fireworks! Becca just loved them! She said "Ooooo!" and pointed at them. It was too cute.

The Riverton Fireworks show is so great! We had a great spot. The show lasted 30 minutes! It was great.

Sunday July 5th
We were so tired on the 4th (it was past 11 when we got home) that we put Becca straight to bed and went to bed ourselves. But we had bought some fireworks to do at home, so we had Jake, Linds and thier kids, and Andrew up again for fireworks and dessert.

Eh, why not? We got Becca out of bed to watch the fireworks. Little Andrew was out cold, and so Becca and Lizzie got to enjoy the fireworks with us.

Lizzie clearly knows how to pose for the camera...what's wrong with my kid????

Fireworks are fun!

The girls hanging out with Jake.

Our finale included a big one called "Rat-a-Tat-Tat" I expected popping, but not the screetching! And it was HUGE and went on forever! We were all laughing hysterically, but I was also worried about the neighbors! Sorry guys!

It was such a fun fourth! I love holidays! On to the next big adventure!

Fourth of July: Part 1!

I hope you all had a wonderful fourth! We had a great day! Here are some shots from our afternoon BBQ. Since there are lots, I will post pics of the fireworks tomorrow. For now, here is the BBQ we had with our friend's the Larson's and Andrew!

The food spread! Pasta Salad, Chips and Salsa, Cherries, Watermellon, Corn on the Cob, Burgers fresh from the grill, Lemonade and Grape Soda! It was such a blast and a chance to be thankfull for all the blessings of plenty we have in this country!

The table is set with festive colors and plates!

My Red White and Blue Trifle. It was pretty good if I do say so myself!

Tyson the grill master. We had yummy burgers and all the fixings! It was a huge and fabulous meal!

Becca making a mess of her food.

While we were letting our big meal digest a bit before having trifle, the kids went for a dip in the wading pool. They had so much fun splashing and giggling together!

The pool was big enough for Brad to show off his floating skills. Becca was fascinated with him!

Loving the water with Brad!

Having SO MUCH FUN!

Me and Sara.

The Larson's! How do they get their little baby to pose? What is the secret people? ;)

With a kid who doesn't like to pose for the camera, this was the best family shot we got. But still a good picture I think?

There she is! America's Sweetheart!

Later we went to the Park to fly Tyson's new x-wing kite. It wasn't quite windy enough though.

Andrew attempted to help launch it....

But as you can see...it didn't get up very high.

Becca had fun running around the park anyway!

It was such a great afternoon! Tomorrow, come check out the Riverton Fireworks, and the stuff we did at home on the 5th...cause it was too late on the 4th after we got home from Riverton Park.

Happy Fourth!

I hope everyone has a fireworks and food filled fourth! Please take time to think about how wonderful it is to live in a country whose freedoms are a gift from God. Let us hope that we can strive to continue to be worthy of his blessings!

New Hair...Need Votes!

Okay so I need to get some votes here. It is time to get my hair done again, and big shocker, I want a change. These are some ideas I'm thinking of.

Cut A
I was watching Smallville and liked her hair. This cut is layered heavily in front and choppily all the way around, but shorter than I have done it yet...the next pic is the same cut, just styled differently...so you can see the options I would have.

With Bangs/ Cut B
More layers and bangs.

Cut C
Longer bob, less bangs.

Color Options
This is me with dark hair.

Or should I put more blonde back in?

Should I do the dark base with blonde, or just put blonde on top of my natural brown/the brown that my hair is now? Obviously as you can tell from the pictures of the cuts, I am being drawn to blondes right now...

I didn't have any pictures of my more blonde hair on this computer...so I may post one later if you want to check back.

So...
Vote for cut, bangs or still have sideswept long bangs, and color! Or give me suggestions. Ha ha. So helpful huh!
