St. Patrick's Day!

We had a TON of fun for St. Patrick's day this year!

On Wednesday, St. Patricks Day:

We wore our St. Patrick's day shirts! Becca's says Mommy's Irish Princess.

Then the leprechauns came and left us Lucky Charms and green milk for breakfast!

They also left this little calling card in a boquet of green flowers.

Then Becca and I went to lunch at Olive Garden with Sara, Brad and Gavin as a catch up day out for Sara's birthday. I was at Disneyland, so I missed it!

Then we had a very green dinner! Green mashed potatoes as part of our (very simplified, un-caserole baked) Shepherd's Pie. Green limeade, lime jello with "golden" nuggets of pineapple (topped with cool whip). It was all yummy!

Wink!

Me and my sweetheart!

Then we had some shamrock cookies and green milk for a treat.

Since St. Patrick's Day was on a Wed, we had our annual get together on Saturday with our old BYU buds!

Shauna, (a very worn out, and not make-uped) me, and Linds!

The leprechauns tried to hide their gold in our brown grass, but the kids were good at finding it!

Look at that haul!

They were all SOOO cute!

Our table was cute complete with rainbow and pot o'gold!

Last year the balloons were a BIG hit with the kids, so we had them again this year, they didn't dissapoint!

Okay, I know this picture is crooked, but I took it at a funny angle and it didn't look right the other way either...but here is our yummy dinner! Traditional Corned Beef, cabbage, carrots, green fruit salad, my poppyseed red potatoes, and YUMMY green citrus punch! (The rolls were the gold nuggets in the pot of gold!) It was SOOOO good!

Kindof a dark picture, but there we are eating!

Another shot so I could get Tyson in a pic!

Becca and Andrew! They were so cute...they laughed at eachother more than ate.

We watched "Waking Ned Devine" Perhaps the FUNNIEST Irish movie I have ever seen!

Then for dessert I made my green and gold lemon cake! It was yum!

We had SUCH a fun time! I LOVE St. Patricks day. It was a hard day for me emotionally so I was really happy to have great friends to do stuff with.

The emotional part was because St. Patricks day is my father's birthday. He would have been 71. I love you daddy, and miss you tons.

Until next time!

Goal Updates

These were my year goals and updates

1) Finish my first novel and have it edited before June. (**bonus goal, start something new that I can work on at the BYU conference this year)

  • yeah not even close. I have written a VERY little. I am spending more of my time reading books.
2) Lose 10% of my body weight by my 7 year anniversary with Tyson on June 27th. (This is a BIG one for me. But I do have to post one acception...if I get pregnant, although I could still probably be fine and lose weight I am not locking myself into any numbers.)

  • I guess announceing how much I have to lose still and how much I have lost will be admitting how much I did/do weigh...but...with a little more to go I wanted you to know I have lost 20.5 lbs!!!! I am so so so so thrilled! Keep on going!

3) Get to the temple at least 6 times this year. This may be a small goal for some of you, but to be honest our temple attendance has been very lacking. And with so many temples so close, I really have no excuse. So what if I have to drive to Jordan River so that I can rent a dress because my old one doesn't fit anymore? Really? It's a whole 10 minutes farther away than the temple down the street.

  • I've been once to do initiatories.

4) Spend more quality time with Rebecca and Tyson. Too many nights we spend in front of the TV and not enjoying being a family.

  • I think we are doing well at this. We still watch shows some nights but I feel more fulfilled with our family life than I had been. I need to remember this though as it is easy to get back in the TV watching habit!

So there it is folks! How are you doing on your goals???

Disneyland!

Rebecca and I flew down to CA to help my mom out after shoulder surgery. So Tyson drove down with our buds Andrew and Shauna later the next week and we all went to Disneyland on the 12th. What was even better was My brother and his family were there that day AND Tyson's brother and family were there too! It was so great to take Becca to Disneyland for the first time and have so many people there that we know and love!

Waiting in line for the tram! SO excited!

I LOVE this shot of us! On the tram the first "unofficial" ride!

Mickey Mouse welcomes us to his home! The one and only original!

The classic caslte pic! Sleeping Beauty Castle patterned after Neushwanstein Castle that Tyson and I saw back in Oct.

Mickey, Walt and the castle!

The best kids ride there is! Our first official ride, Peter Pan!

I love this guy so so much! When I get to Disneyland I am just happy!

Trying to pull the sword out of that stone to be queen.

Dumbo! More fun than I remembered and Becca loved it!

We even took her on Haunted Mansion! After she handled Snow White I figured she could handle anything! She love Pirates too!

Brer Bear!

Oh man did she love Pooh Bear! She just hugged him forever.

I had to jump in to get her to stand up so we could get a smiley pic and move on to Tigger!

Becca was a little wary of Tigger when we got up close, which was funny because she was screaming his name in line!

Then we switched with Shauna and Andrew and went on Splash! We didn't get too wet, just some sprinkles you can see on my shoulder.

Lunch at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port! I remember when this place opened I was craving the chicken alfredo pasta!

Then Becca and I were on our own for a while due to Tyson, Andrew and Shauna getting stuck on a broken down Indiana Jones...so we did Jungle Cruise, Winnie the Pooh the ride, and watched Princess Tiana sing and dance in New Orlean's Square! Then when we were going to meet them again she zonked!

We caught up with daddy and headed to ToonTown to see Trevor and Aimee and play with cousins!

She LOVED seeing them!

And we got to meet Mickey Mouse!

Becca kept inching away in this pic, don't know why!

Oh no, Monstro on Storybook land!

Teacups, the mom's and the 2 year olds!

The dad's and the big boys, they spun FAST!

We let the kids spin us...needless to say it was slower.

The Carousel! Becca LOVES Carousels and riding the horses.

Out happy family! Look at that "cheese" face on Becca! She is such a ham!

Then Grandma came and picked up Becca and Tyson and I went over to Disney's California Adventure (DCA) and went on Tower of Terror. Both of our first times on this ride, it was AWESOME!

Me and Kai in line...little did she know I would be grabbing on to her durring the ride too!

Then we went on Screamin' and headed back to D-land to meet up with Andrew and Shauna.

We saw Captain EO! It was so rad! Good times!

We all went on Space Mountain which was really fun! I love that ride!

The Castle is so pretty at night!

One more shot with Mickey, it was a long day but SOOO much fun! I told Tyson we need to come back more often than once every 4 years!
