Okay So You Went to CA, What Else Have You Been Doing?

What a fabulous question! Thanks for asking!

We've actually been pretty busy enjoying the end of summer up here.

This is just cute. Had to post my little Audrey Hepburn/Jackie O.

Lion King
On Friday October 17th Tyson and I went to go see Lion King in Salt Lake! It was a MUCH needed date and so much fun!

Beforehand we went to Benihana for dinner. YUMMY!

Mmmm ginger dressing!

Cool onion volcano! It was pretty sweet.

Mmm Beef, onion, mushrooms!

Horrible shot of me...but the only one we got with the sign for the show in the background. I couldn't remember which seats we got but we were in the first section up in the balcony, it was a really good seat. I have sean the show before (in LA) and LOVE it. The pupeteering and staging and music is all amazing. Tyson really enjoyed it too, this was his first time seeing it!

In the theater, waiting for it to start! It was kinda funny...after we took this one of the usher guys came and said no photography in the theater (Of course I wasn't going to take any shots during the show) but whatever, we got our pic. Well literally 30 seconds later another usher offered to take a picture for a large group across the aisle from us. I was laughing at the difference.

Twin's Birthday Party
We had an awesome time at my friend's girl's birthday. Becca calls them "My Twins" and their Grandma she calls just "Grandma". She seriously loves them! Dialma always throws an awesome party. This year it was How To Train Your Dragon themed and it was SO cute!

The awesome cake and cupcakes! The cupcakes are Viking hats, and the cake is the rocky mountains where the dragons live, if you look closely you can see Toothless on there!

Becca in her Viking gear! I am sure Great Grandma Ricilli (who is 100% Danish of Viking descent) was looking down and smiling at her great grand-daughter!

We had a treasure hunt, here is Becca and dad checking out the map!

And running to one of the pots to gather dragon eggs!

Then we had dragon training and blocked fireballs with our shields! See the ball she's blocking! Go Viking Becca!

Then we practiced throwing nets over the dragons.

And slew the dragon to get the candy reward!

Happy 5th birthday girls! We love you!

Becca loved the cupcakes that matched her hat!

Me and the girls, Erin and Dialma (Sara had left, I got a pic with Sara and Erin earlier, but that's on Sara's camera!) I love my friends!

Random
We love having In-n-Out so close to us. This last time they gave Becca a hat! She was too cute!

So Becca wanted some carrot for lunch one Sunday, so we decided to pick one....it was so FAT! Our garden isn't deep...we just did a 6 inch deep square foot garden...I think I want to deepen it (double it) next year, but I think it's funny that the carrot got wider since it couldn't go deeper, and started two offshoots!

It's practically the size of Becca's head!

Then we also had the horrible Herriman Fire just south of us. So glad it wasn't more of a tragedy than it was! It was pretty scary, and looked like Mordor out there!

We also bought a swiffer and since they re-designed them had to seriously mess with it to make it short. But Becca LOVES her "Sweeper". She loves to help and it is great to have help!

Hanging with Friends
Our friends Linds and Jake are getting closer and closer to moving back to TX! So we have been trying to fit in lots of time with them so Becca can play with Lizzie and Andrew! She LOVES them. And Lizzie and Becca were only 4 days apart, they have been friends since the womb. We will be so sad when they leave!

The other day we were hanging out, and we wanted to go to the park but it started raining! So we went to Arctic Circle to get ice cream and play!
Lizzie and Linds! You can't tell, but they're eating french fries. Lizzie is a salty food girl, not such a fan of ice cream! Crazy kid!

Becca and mommy. Oh man I love her face!

Andrew eating his cone.

Cute girls!

The best shot I got of all 3 of them! It is SO hard to get 3 kids ages 3 and 2 to smile all at once!

They were pretending they were on the "Dinosaur Train" and this is Becca handing me my ticket. I thought that it was a cute shot of these two blue eyed beauties. Man when they go to BYU together they will KILL the boys!

Buds forever! Even if they are apart!

There's more, but I figured this was long enough. ;) I'm getting all caught up!

Halloween is on the Way!

I thought it was time to make my blog more Fall-like, since the weather won't do it for me. So enjoy the new background and my Halloween playlist to get you in the mood!

Fave Becca Quote

On Sunday, Tyson and I were driving home late from a friend's and we were having a minor meaningless argument, and from the back seat piped up Becca.

"Stop guys. You're not being nice. And I'm tired."

We both start giggling immediately and say "Sorry Becca."

Then Becca said again, "What are you doing guys? Being mean?"

Still laughing, Tyson said "It's okay Becca. Thanks for putting us in our place."

Becca promptly said "Welcome."

We were laughing SO hard! I am LOVING these moments! And loving that I have a place to record them!

California Trip Extravaganza Part 7!

San Francisco!!!
The day after Shauna and Andrew's Wedding we stayed in CA an extra day and took the BART rail across the bay over to San Fran! It was a great day!

Daddy and Becca at the BART station.

Checking out the map. Looked and felt very European to me. I'm not used to US cities having transport like this!

When we got to San Fran just a short walk from the BART station down Market street was the turn around start to the traditional streetcars. These things are awesome, and such a HUGE part of San Fran. Did you know the one of the only reason they were able to settle San Fran the way they did were these cars? It is so hilly even horse and buggy couldn't handle it, and certainly not the first cars. Public transport like this was necisarry!

Us with the Street car. We had to wait FOREVER, but there were so many people there that day that there would have been no room to load on later down the line. We kept having to yell "full" at the people at other stops.

Finally got a seat! It was nuts, but worth it!

Turn the corner and bam! View of the bay! so awesome! That is "The Rock" out there.

I'm glad we got this shot when we got off the street car cause our camera battery died by the end of the night! So we didn't get pics of it later when we actually went up to Ghirardelli Square and got ice cream. Mmmm it was SO good!

There she be folks! The golden gate bridge! It is amazing that I have been a California Girl all my life and never been here!

Cool old ship!

Okay, so this is us with the bridge, you can't see it very well, cause we weren't very close but it is there to the right of the pic.

Another shot. It was never not partially covered in clouds that day.

Becca and Fisherman's Wharf!

Mmmm food! We got this great view of the Wharf.

We shared a half of a local dungenes crab for an appetizer. Mmmmm.

Becca had spaghetti, Tyson had local fish pan fried...

And I got Halibut covered in this yummy mushroom and tomato cream sauce!

Then we walkd the wharf down to pier 39. At Boudin's sourdough they were makeing these SUPER cute sourdough sea turtles!

On the peir they have these platforms just for the Sea Lions! It was awesome to see so many, but they were stinky!

Becca wouldn't look at the camera.

Close up.

Close of up Alcatraz. It really is pretty close to shore. Standing on the pier looking at it I understood how prisoners would stand on the rock and think, I can swim that....in freezing shark infested waters...

Tyson with Alcatraz...kinda looks like her belongs there huh?

Becca looking out at the water.

View of the bridge from the end of Pier 39

Then on the pier we saw this fun act... Captain Jack Spareribs. He was actually really funny.

Pier 39 Carousel tokens.

Becca wanted to up to the second level and ride a dolphin. How often do you see a two story merry go round?

This is at the start of pier 39. Interesting huh...

On the peir we grabbed this small bag of fresh donuts. Wow they were good.

Then we continued onto Boudin's again to buy some sourdough...look at all that yummy yummy sourdough in the background!

Mmmm we couldn't help but to just rip some chunks off there! We took the rest with us for snacking the rest of the evening.

Then we went into the Wax museum. It was probably a bit over priced, but it was interesting.

Tyson with the infamous 3 from WWII...seeing Hitler was pretty creepy actually.

The last supper...not something I expected to see...but it was cool to see it in 3D.

Steve Irwin and Rambo...now that's a pair!

I had to get this cool shot of this In-n-Out. It was actually just this little corner so the place is shaped like a triangle and in the strip of shops...I've never seen one like this!

From here we went and did a little shopping, and then went to Ghirardelli square. But our camera battery died. By the time we got back to our hotel in Oakland it was past midnight and we were tired!

Someday we will need to go back and check out the other parts of the city! It is HUGE!

Well folks, that is our huge CA trip! It was so fun, I hope you enjoyed the pics!
